Large-Area Thermal-Neutron Detector

The Li-Foil Multiwire Proportional Counter (MWPC) is a large-area neutron detector designed as an alternative to 3He and BF3-based detectors. The standard configuration provides 40% thermal-neutron detection efficiency and weighs approximately 0.7 kg (1.6 lb).

The available detection area can be adjusted to customer specifications, with thermal-neutron detection efficiencies ranging from 20% to 70%. The detector operates from a nominal 3 V input and can be configured with TTL or digital USB output consuming very low power.
